How do I use Last Look?

Answer:
Once installed, there's very little you need to do.  Whenever you send a email message, Last Look analyzes the message and compares it to the various feature settings that are currently active.  If the message fits the criteria of one or more active features then an alert is generated to let you know, and give you a chance to change the message if you wish.

Otherwise, Last Look just sits quietly in the background.

What are the prerequisites for Last Look (Express and Standard)?

Answer:
The following are the prerequisites for installing and running Last Look (both Express and Standard versions):
  • Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
  • Microsoft Outlook 2007
  • .Net 2.0 or higher

These must be installed for Last Look to install and run.  The Last Look installer will install all other necessary software to run Last Look, if not already installed.  These include the 2007 Microsoft Office system Primary Interop Assemblies, the Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office runtime, and Windows Installer 3.1.

What features are in the Express version?

Answer:
The free Express version of Last Look checks your email message for the following criteria:
  • Words that indicate you are sending an attachment, but there are no attachments to the message
  • Words that indicate you are sending a URL or email address, but none are found in the message
  • Exceeded a size limit

These features can be turned off or on in the Last Look options panel, and the size limite can also be set to a new value.

What features are in the Standard version of Last Look?

Answer:

The Standard version of Last Look checks your email message for the following criteria:

  • Words that indicate you are sending an attachment, but there are no attachments to the message
  • Words that indicate you are sending a URL or email address, but none are found in the message
  • Words that may be objectionable to the recipient
  • An empty subject line
  • An empty message body (for forwards and replies)
  • Exceeded a size limit
These features can be turned off or on in the Last Look options panel, and the Attachments keywords, URL keywords, and size limite can also be set to new values.
